zilch?

Am overcome with surges of either envy or spite. (Note: in some thesaurus they come under the same category). You can't really blame me when you have to spend almost half of your day in the company of quite a number of tight-assed 'intellectuals' (excuse the profane language). And note the quote signs. People who write poetry and think they belong to a higher plane. Not everyone of course, I know some who still have their feet humbly and firmly checked.
So the question is: is poetry-writing connected to intelligence? Try answering that. I'm never fond of what I write, though I have a soft spot for one or two pieces...

So is it envy or spite? I'd rather it's the latter...at least, it doesn't leave me feeling I haven't done enough. Sometimes, foolishly enough, you do get the feeling that you need to count your trophies and winning citations...then you get zilch, and that's when the funny sensations really start to kick in...
