Oh dear...

Am reading Doctor Faustus for the third time. No literary ambition; it just happens to be in the syllabus for Thursday exam.
I borrowed The Remains of the Day (the movie) from the British Council, was very keyed up to watching it, and my PC refused to cooperate. It couldn't (wouldn't!) read DVD files.
I've had my computer for almost two years, and I just found out that it fails DVDs. We have a relationship the kind of a married couple's. *grins*

So I have to be very, very patient and wait until Wednesday or even longer to get my DVD player fixed.
On a good note, tomorrow is Deepavali. I spent last year's Diwali on the roof of a friend's apartment. We had hot coffee and biscuits while watching firecrackers bursting all over the city.
It was magnificent. There were sparks of all colours shooting into the air, and bursting right before your eyes. They brightened up the sky at several seconds' interval...it was lovely. Geez...this is good stuff for romance novels...

A year has really, truly elapsed...hhh...I'll end this before I get all melancholic again.

And oh, Ishiguro is wonderful.
I get chills when I finish the book. And know why only when I finish.
Steven's such a dear.
Someone who's incredibly inexpressive; at one point you can't help but
grabbing him by the collar or shaking his shoulders really hard to get him to let go, only to find the guy staring blankly at you, and would most likely respond with: Pardon me? I think you've got the wrong person."

Sleep tight.
