skip!

I paid 5 rupees less for my trip home from college today.I think we've established long ago that my days are uneventful, so questions and objections are uncalled for. I was skipping when I got off the auto, and stopped at the first skip. I stopped, and wondered whether I was allowed to jump on a public street. Then it was decided that I should walk calmly, sophisticatedly home. I jumped as soon as the door closed behind me. That did it.

College anecdote(s):

By the end of the class, we have established that Australians are savages, with a pinpointed example that they address their Prime Minister with "Oi, bloke!". (anyone who claims to be an Australian: your polite objections will gladly be passed on to my teacher.)
California was pronounced the most civilized state in the US.
Apparently, we are ignorant scholars for not being able to recall the name of Ian Thorpe; the assertion coming from someone who hasn't completed her basic portion of history and general knowledge (what's Alcatraz?). I don't mind the Alcatraz bit quite so much, but there's a limit to the number of criticisms you can make when you're uninformed of the former.
My teacher sounded like someone who had spent the night in the company of the entire series of Encyclopedia Americana. Ah...the charm of practical knowledge.
Again: teachers. *sigh*
